The city of Birmingham is my base camp currently despite many jaunts back to my real home county. The city is the 2nd biggest city in England and has lots going on and plenty for visitors to see.

Eating Out & Nightlife

Birmingham has a vibrant nightlife which includes options for everyone from simple meals out, concerts as well as night clubs/bars. Brindley Place and Broad Street is home to many restaurants and bars and is the more lively areas at night.

Brindley Place

There are many options for restaurants in Brindley Place, it’s a great place to eat out.  There are many types of eatery to suit most budgets.

Posh restaurant Bank is my favourite place in the area for a nice meal. Especially if you want to impress someone. It is posh inside and out and they have a very impressive menu.

Pitcher & Piano

Always a reliable meal out at The Pitcher & Piano with good service including table service outside.

Jewellery Quarter

The Jewellery Quarter is my preference to hang out and it has some fantastic restaurants and independent bars, most of which are dog friendly. The area is home to some nice architecture including churches and a picturesque heritage graveyard.

China Town

Birmingham has a China town near to New Street train station with loads of options for Chinese, Korean and Thai food. There is good food shopping in the area with plenty of Asian supermarkets as well as the indoor markets in the area too.

The city has some great architecture to admire including 2 Cathedrals, many churches and the fantastic buildings in Victoria Square. Centenary Square is a hot spot for events as well as being pretty in its self to hang out and watch the fountains. The Bullring and Grand Central shopping centre is a feat of design and looks very futuristic.

There are some great museums for visitors or locals to enjoy, the main one being the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. There is also the Thinktank Science museum, museum of pens, coffins and The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter to name a few.

There will be many blog posts about Birmingham below, or you could check my local profiles out on social media.
